Getting my feet with Open Source

Wubi

Image via Wikipedia

Yes yes i know its been a while from my last post, but i was looking at so many  things. Also my Isp screwed me for 3 weeks.

Software Freedom Day is coming here in Trinidad, and i decided to take a closer look at the open source world. I installed Ubuntu 9.04 on my Asus EEE 1000HA using the wubi installer ( that way there are no misshapes).

Now there were three main programs that i wanted to run in Linux that i use in windows, these are:- Glassfish Application Server, Netbeans IDE, and Postgresql RDBMS.

So far I got Netbeans installed. It was easy as its just an IDE. there is no real complex configurations to apply.

Postgresql and Glassfish will be the tough ones.

I'll be sure to keep you guys updated and let you know how i did it. (i hope i get it)
